Meet the Owner

Winfield Catwell

My food journey started in 1967 in Barbados. I used to watch my mom cook, I would get in the kitchen when she wasn’t watching and recreate plates she made for my siblings and me, and by the time I was 14, I could cook for my entire family.

So, it’s in my family, and it’s in my blood. We know how to cook well and bake well. I love people, and I love seeing them happy, seeing them smile, and providing them with my food. Seeing you enjoy it pleases me. I value customer service and making my guests feel special because, without my customers, my business doesn’t exist.

About the Restaurant

In the 1980s, my brothers and I decided to bring a taste of the Caribbean to Plainfield, New Jersey. Our love and passion for food and people culminated into what is now known as Adrian’s Caterers. Our food, impeccable customer service, and dedication continue to define our dining experience. Over the decades, many things have changed but our amazing food and attention to detail continues to be a staple in the community. Come see for yourself!

Our History

Event 1

In the fall of 1988, my love and passion for the hospitality business began to take shape as a dream to a better future. This dream slowly became a foundation for something bigger than myself and my family. It manifested itself as Adrian’s, a community-based restaurant and catering business that gave the world a taste of the Caribbean among other cultural delicacies.Nov 09, 1985

Event 2

Initially, business went well and things prospered but eventually things slowed down due to lack of funding and advertisements. Business continued to grow slowly but surely. Our clientele base was ever-growing and the name Adrian’s was spreading throughout the community. More and more, individuals were hearing about Adrian’s through word of mouth from friends and family.Nov 09, 1985

Event 3

Through the investments and contributions of family, the business continued to move ahead in the right direction. The vision for the future of Adrian’s was becoming even clearer. Now the vision is clear and with a few loyal customers, we are working our way into the tech age. The business continues to thrive in an ever-changing environment in which many “mom and pop’s” businesses struggle to compete against larger franchises.Nov 09, 1985

Event 4

We are currently revamping the way we do business and reshaping our image as a business and a brand. Nevertheless, we continue to be a community and family-oriented business and with a touch of love, respect, and God’s help we are on the move. Business today is very promising. My team and I are excited to make new friends while keeping and maintaining old relationships.Nov 09, 1985
